Dear Families,
Happy June everyone!  We're entering our final month of school!  I still can't believe how fast our year went! As they say, "time flies!"  It certainly has with this wonderful group of children.  Mrs. O and I chatted about how amazing our classes are.  We look forward to watching them continue to grow academically, socially, and behaviourally next year and beyond!  I'll always hold a special place in my heart for your child :)

EQAO:
We did it!  We are officially done EQAO :) The students all did their personal best and I couldn't be more proud of their hard work.  We really enjoyed this process as it helped us celebrate what we know and think about what we need to keep working towards.

If you wish, please ask your child:
What were some of the titles of the reading selections?
What did you write about in your adventure story?
Can you tell me about 2 open response math questions you answered?

I have shared with my students that although we are done the testing, we will still be learning and working hard on our math, reading, and writing skills until the end of school.  It's important to keep a routine as children thrive off of this!

Yesterday, we enjoyed a little end of EQAO celebration with Mrs. O's class and had some sticky treats!  Thank you to Nate and Carson's families for providing us with some yummy eats!

Fun Fair:
A big thank you to our dedicated parent council for planning, organizing, promoting, and facilitating our annual fun fair!  Despite the calling of rain, it turned out to be beautiful outside!  The fair was a huge success because of the amazing team!  On behalf of the staff at Nottawa, thank you for ALL that you do!  It is deeply appreciated.  In addition, I'd like to thank my class' families for their generous donations to our D.P.A. basket.  It turned out great!  Sorry I don't have any photos to share for this, I was too busy talking away to everyone ;) Thanks Mrs. Jackson for relieving me at the World of Sports station!

Wye Marsh Session #2:
We had the pleasure of having our second visit with a Wye Marsh visitor named Jeremy who taught us all about different kinds of animal species.  The instructor was very knowledgeable and provided the students with an engaging indoor and outdoor lesson!  The kids loved being outside exploring our spectacular school yard to find all the neat critters we have here.  Jeremy shared with us that he's been to every school in Simcoe County and that Nottawa's yard is the largest one he's ever seen.  He loved it!  Here we are in science action!

Upcoming Field Trips:
Yesterday, I sent home 3 permission forms for you to sign and return to school.  Please do your best to return forms on the due dates suggested.  This really helps us out to ensure all kids get to participate.  It is strongly encouraged that parents use our school cash online for payment.  Mrs. Metheral really appreciates your support in this matter.

We will be going on the following trips in the coming weeks!  We are so fortunate that our school provides such wonderful experiences for our children to learn and rejoice in.  I have taught at many schools now and I can share that Nottawa has the best trips planned!
